REPRESENTATION

Image
1) List the people, places and groups represented in the poster.  In this poster there are 7 young students who look quite threatening due to the equipment they're holding. Another one I can identify is that black kids are violent. From this poster people may agree because the black actors are the ones with bold facilal expressions which connotes hatred and could be menacing.  3) What is the preferred reading of this poster? JANUARY ASSESSMENT LEARNER RESPONSE

You still need a whole paragraph on News Industry. Citizen Journalism and fake news? You could give real examples to support your news. Usually people used to read the news straight from paper and wait until a new one is published to read more. As technology has developed and become more advanced the news is now shown over the new digital media but paper news still exist - it's not as popular as it was back then. The NDM allows the audience to view the news online wherever and whenever which is a much accessible way of finding out whats going on around you and the world. This also allows the audience to express their opinions about the news, knowing its more reliable if a big company has published it. A rise of citizen journalism has spread across the media platform these past years - mostly because its easy to become one and you're earning money. This is useful to those who are there in the moment to live stream an event that is taking place. If you're lucky you can be

AUDIENCE ESSAY FEEDBACK AND LEARNER RESPONSE

1) Copy and paste your feedback from the email in  full - WWW, EBI and LR WWW- I am so impressed with how up to date your blog is and with the effort you have put into Media since starting the course in September. This is testament to your hard work and I am sure, if you continue to apply what you have learned in class in this way, you will definitely meet or exceed your target grade of a 6. In your essay, you keep focused really well on the question throughout and you consider the advantages and disadvantages well, using appropriate media terms such as ‘appointment to view’ which elevates your work to GCSE standard. Well done. Your conclusion shows a maturity about your subject matter and clearly gives your own opinion. I particularly enjoyed your work on the newspaper industry. EBI- Some of your written English is a bit sloppy and needs proof reading to ensure that it all makes sense and is of a high enough standard. An example would be in your Camera Angles analysis task wher

RECEPTION THEORY

Image
1) What is the preferred reading of a media text? It's the idea that the producers can position the audience in a certain place and influence their reading so they accept the intended message by using recognised codes and conventions ( such as stereotypes ) 2) What is the oppositional reading of a media text? The audience reject the intended message and construct an opposite reading instead. This can be due to their own social or political or moral beliefs and values. The young people have no emotion when they commit negative actions towards their community which suggests to the consumers that they're heartless - don't care about peoples opinions on them. 4) Wh
