FILM POSTER ANALYSIS
LANGUAGE:
We know this is a film poster because it includes the title and tag-line, release date and billing block which all follow the expected codes and conventions of a film poster. The title portrays a sense of violence in the film due to the colour and boldness + the fire in the back. "HungerGames", the title of this film gives the audience an idea that theres also competition in the film due to the title which suggests people are mad and fighting meaning the competition is shown as a 'game'.
INDUSTRIES:
The film was produced by Nina Jacobson and John Kilik. John has been nominated for some awards such as the Academy Award for Best Picture and BAFTA Award for Best Film in 2007 etc... Nina has also had some same achievements as John including Producers Guild of America Award and British Academy TV Award for Best International Programme in 2007. Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 was executively produced by Suzanne Collins, Jan Foster and Allison Shearmur who are successful directors in the industry. These people and many more that are to be named are the ones that are behind this film, they're the ones who're making this happen for the public to watch.
AUDIENCE:
This looks like it would be targeted at an audience of 15 and over and slightly more aimed at boys who're into action films. This is because as you can tell by the film poster the main character is a girl armed with weapons meaning the movie certainly has something to do with violence and in todays world the majority of people would agree that boys are into action films more than girls.
REPRESENTATION:
The focal picture presented in the back is showing the main character (Katniss) armed with bow and arrows suggesting the film also may include war, intense scenes. This falls into the category of 'Action' which is a well known category for most films being published today, it also persuades the audience to watch it because its in a well known category that most people are watching.
